A business in Northern Virginia is seeking a talented individual with superb organization and customer service skills to perform administrative duties in support of a program that assists the US military and their family members. The position is located in Arlington (Clarendon), VA, and will require a minimum of working three, 8-hour days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) hours from 8:30am-5pm EST). The job is located just steps away from the Clarendon metro station.

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The Administrative Support Specialist II will be responsible for providing high-level administrative support. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Researches and verifies information pertaining to reports; prepares/tracks budgets; creates databases and analyzes moderately complex data
  2. Supports projects by assisting manager/department, builds and maintains project plans, schedules, and contributes to meetings to ensure project deliverables are met
  3. Prepares correspondence and reviews documentation for conformance with internal policies and procedures
  4. May maintain files, order supplies, coordinate meetings and compile and distribute meeting minutes
  5. Handles travel arrangements and expense reports
  6. May screen, handle or distribute incoming calls and complaints
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Requires an Associate's Degree; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum four years of administrative assistant/support experience in a busy office environment or customer service center
  • Must have computer proficiency (MS Office suite) and experience using office machinery, such as copiers, fax machines, adding machines, etc.
  • Ability to type at a min. speed of 45 wpm
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to put systems in place that increase efficiency
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
 This is a part-time hourly employee position (W2) that offers medical, dental and vision insurance.
Compensation: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
